Review Overview – What does Cellucor’s Red P6 Extreme do?

cellucor-red-p6-extreme-reviewA natural testosterone booster brought to us by the supplement giant Cellucor – but how does it measure up?

Red P6 Extreme is claimed to promote:

  • Strength
  • Lean Muscle
  • Libido

But how true is that?

In this review we look closely at the servings, ingredients and safety of this product and whether it’s actually effective.

If you’re curious about this product, this is what you need to know:

How are the Servings?

Not ideal.

With only 2 a day, there’s a lot of improvements that could be made to Red P6 Extreme to ensure you get the best results.

For the best possible outcome you need a testosterone booster with 3 – 4 servings a day. This ensures that your body is being constantly supplied with the nutrients it needs to continue to raise your testosterone levels and take your hormones to the next level.

You won’t get that with the serving directions on Cellucor’s Red P6 Extreme.

What about the ingredients in Cellucor’s Red P6 Extreme?

Not great.

To boil it down there’s only one good ingredient here, but Red P6 Extreme is just a proprietary blend.

Proprietary Blends are when all the ingredients are pushed under the same dosage value – this means you don’t know how much there is of each ingredient, or how effective it will be.

It’s not ideal, and diminishes transparency between Cellucor and the customer.

Here’s what you need to know:cellucor-red-p6-extreme-side-effects

Ovine Placenta Powder

Although a protein-rich nutrient, Ovine Placenta is also thought to help with hormone regulation – however, there is limit evidence to prove this with human consumption.

Black Cohost Extract

Thought to help with the menopause and balance estrogen – however the actual effects here are not as reliable as the claims. Studies have shown Black Cohost has little impact on hormone levels and may even just cause a placebo effect.

Beta-Sitosterol/Stinging Nettle Extract

Great for boosting free testosterone.

Beta-Sitosterol is a component of stinging nettle and it’s an effective free testosterone booster. By inhibiting Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (a protein that binds to testosterone and removes it’s effectiveness), Beta-Sitosterol allows more free testosterone to circulate in your blood stream.

Essentially this will give you more available T.

Wild Yam Extract

Like Black Cohost, Wild Yam is also thought to help with balancing hormones and the menopause. Unfortunately, like Black Cohost, this also lacks the clinical evidence to support claim.

Bayberry Extract

Chinese Bayberry may help with joint health and general inflammation, however it doesn’t seem to have any effect on testosterone – and human studies are hard to come by.

Salvia Sclarea Extract

This herb has been seen to promote feelings of relaxation, which means it may be linked to lowering stress. With less stress there’ll be less of the stress hormone cortisol which can lower testosterone.

Tribulus Alatus Extract

Tribulus is a poor choice.

Originially thought to have some merit for raising testosterone, numerous studies have shown this herbn fails as a testosterone booster, and will not give you the benefits you need.cellucor-red-p6-extreme-results

Ingredients Bottom Line:

On the whole this isn’t a great nutrient profile. The problem here is that it only has one ingredient that has actually been proven to be clinically effective: The Stinging Nettle Extract.

And there’s an issue here too – it’s a proprietary blend. We don’t know how much we’re getting of each ingredient, or how effective it will be.

Aside from boosting free testosterone, there’s going to be very few other benefits here.

The other problem is many of the ingredients are used to combat the menopause – the ingredients aren’t as targeted as they could be, and even they don’t have reliable results.

It’s definitely not the best you’ll come across.

Cellucor Red P6 Extreme Review Conclusion

Overall, this isn’t a great testosterone booster.

In this review, you can see there are several reasons why Cellucor Red P6 Extreme isn’t the best on the market. This is what you need to know:

  1. Servings need improving. You need 3 – 4 servings a day to get long-lasting testosterone boosting effects, this product only has 2.
  2. Ineffective ingredients. Many of the ingredients in this product lack the clinical backing for testosterone boosting,
  3. It’s a Proprietary blend. We don’t know how much of each ingredient is being used, and by extension, how effective it will be.

There are plenty of better options out there on the market.
