Review Overview – What does Cellucor P6 PM do?

cellucor-p6-pm-reviewP6 PM is a testosterone booster with a difference from the known supplement giant Cellucor.

How is it different? It promotes sleep.

Claiming to promote:

  • Rest
  • Recovery
  • Testosterone Levels

It sounds good, but we’re not entirely convinced by P6 PM’s ingredient profile.

We’ve done a full review, and here are the results:

How are the Servings?

Poor. But it’s to be expected.

As this is a T-booster that claims to help you sleep there is only one serving per day.

This is bad news.

One serving a day means that there is a whole 24 hour period in which your testosterone levels are not supplied with the nutrients they need to grow.

They can easily revert back to their baseline with servings like this.

What you should be looking for:

What you want are T-Boosters that have around 3 or 4 servings a day.

These kinds of supplements keep your testosterone levels constantly supplied with the nutrients they need and allow you to continue to optimize your gains and get the most out of your test levels.

What about the ingredients?

There’s one major problem with Cellucor P6 PM: The Proprietary Blend.

A proprietary blends is a group of nutrients that are passed off as one ingredient – this stops us from knowing how much of each ingredient is used – or how effective it will be.

As for the ingredients we can measure, there are only 2 good ingredients in this product that will help raise your testosterone – with a lot of the core nutrients we know to work in testosterone boosters are missing from PM.

Here’s what we found:cellucor-p6-pm-supp-facts

Vitamin B6 has some some positive effects if you’re older…

This is more for the older man.

One of the main benefits of B6 is that it can slow the gene activity of the aromatase enzyme.

This is what turns testosterone into the female hormone estrogen.

Slowing the process allows less testosterone to be converted while you’re producing more T to balance it all out.

However this more an issue for the older man. If you’re not approaching 40 anytime soon, it’s not that essential.

Magnesium is a good addition for Free Testosterone…

This mineral helps your circulating testosterone by how it affects the Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) protein.

SHBG can bind with up to 60% of the testosterone in your bloodstream. This takes away the male hormone’s anabolic potency and makes it useless when it comes to increasing muscle mass.

Magnesium inhibits the protein and lowers the amount of testosterone bound to the protein, this allowing more T to be available to you.

And the Zinc’s not bad either…

One of the main testosterone boosting minerals out there.

Zinc is needed for hormonal reactions in the brain which helps produce the luteinizing hormone (LH).

LH is the brain’s precursor to both testosterone and growth hormone – and there’s good amount of zinc in that product to make that happen.

However, this proprietary blend is garbage…

We understand that this P6 PM is supposed to promote sleep, but this is doing nothing for your testosterone levels with some of the choices.

Especially with it being a proprietary blend – we have no idea how much of each ingredient is actually being used to know if it’s effective.

Take a look at our rundown:

  • Tribulus Terrestris – Thought to be an effective testosterone booster a few years ago. Was debunked with no study out there proving that it works.
  • L-Theanine – Unreliable for lowering anxiety, may do that depending on dosage
  • Passionflower – May promote ‘calmness’ depending on dose
  • GABA – May help lower anxiety – however very unreliable due it’s complexity when consumed orally
  • Melatonin – Possibly the only nutrient here that actually has enough evidence to say it promotes sleepcellucor-p6-pm-review-1

Ingredients: The Bottom Line

If you’re looking for muscle gains, there are better choices out there.

Although this product contains Zinc and Magnesium, it misses out several core ingredients that you need to boost testosterone and build more muscle.

If you’re looking to maximize your gains, here, you’re better off elsewhere.

That proprietary blend really ruins this product.

Cellucor P6 PM Review Conclusion

Overall this is a pretty poor testosterone booster.

Don’t get us wrong, there are a few good ingredients in there like the Magnesium and the Zinc – but they’re not enough to get the job done.

And add on to that the nutrients in the proprietary blend that we don’t know the doses of and we really have a problem.

Then you also need to consider the fact there’s only one serving a day in here.

There’s a lot going wrong with this supplement, and not a lot going right. You’d be better off looking elsewhere.
