Review Overview – What Alpha Boost is claimed to do:

alpha boost reviewFrom Alpha Nutra comes Alpha Boost, the T-booster believed to:

  • Supports Sex Drive
  • Boosts Testosterone
  • Balances Mood

But does it really?

We’ve looked closely at the science behind Alpha Boost and we’ve been pretty surprised by the results. This is what we’ve found:

How are the servings?

Poor.

With only two servings a day, this product doesn’t go ‘above and beyond’ to give your testosterone levels the attention they need. For the best results Alpha Nutra should’ve added in more.

What you should be looking for:

Ideally, from a good testosterone booster you need around 3 – 4 servings a day. This provides your testosterone levels with the constant supply of nutrients that they need to continually increase and give you far higher levels of testosterone.

P.S.: You can see the testosterone boosters that do this the best in our top 3 in the link below:

What about the Ingredients in Alpha Boost?

Okay, but there’s some problems.

The first issue is a lot of this product is wrapped in proprietary blend. This means a lot of the ingredients are bundled in together under the same value. We don’t know how much of each one is being used, or how effective it will be overall.

Secondly there’s a chance of getting side effects when taking Alpha Boost.

We’ve written up the more notable ingredients, take a look:alphaboostingredients

Zinc is a good start… But is there too much here?

One of the key minerals to natural testosterone boosting. Zinc is used in several reactions in the brain to promote the Luteinizing Hormone (LH) the precursor to testosterone and growth hormone.

50mg however is a little much as medical guidelines recommend a maximum of 45mg, if you’ve already got a Zinc-rich diet, (i.e. red meat or seafood) we suggest taking caution.

Tongkat Ali (Longjack) won’t help testosterone, but it may help libido…

Thought to boost libido, studies have proven otherwise. Unfortunately there’s no evidence that Longjack promotes testosterone, it may however, help with libido.

The same goes for the Maca…

Same boat. Studies have shown Maca does not boost testosterone, although it may in some cases help boost libido.

Whereas the L-Arginine won’t have much effect at all…

An amino acid used in some pre-workouts to help promote nitric oxide – the compound that gives us “the pump”. Unfortunately however studies have shown that L-Arginine is absorbed too well by with oral consumption.

The Ginseng will though…

A nutrient that has been shown to improve nitric oxide levels in subjects, this traditional herb has also been seen to help promote libido and erectile function in studies – and may, to an extent, help improve testosterone levels.

But that Tribulus Terrestris is just awful…

Possibly one of the worst testosterone boosting nutrients out there – mainly because it doesn’t boost testosterone.

Tribulus is an over-hyped herb that has been seen to have no effect on testosterone levels, and may only have some very minor effects on libido.

Oyster Extract is a good move on paper, however…

Oyster extract contains a range of great nutrients that help towards overall health and testosterone boosting. Containing 10x as much zinc as red meat, it’s a great choice for anyone looking to boost testosterone.

However, we already know there’s 50mg of zinc in this product, Oyster Extract would push this firmly over the line. Take caution if you decide to use this product.

Boron’s pretty effective…

An effective mineral that has been seen in several studies to help boost testosterone and promote free testosterone.alphaboost

Ingredients Bottom Line:

Overall, Alpha Boost is really mixed bag in terms of testosterone boosting. It has some good ingredients (Zinc, Ginseng, Oyster Extract, Boron) but also some ineffective ones (Maca, Longjack, L-Arginine, TRIBULUS).

That would be okay, but they seem to have gone overboard with the zinc. Dosing it far above the daily recommended maximum. Which could lead to potential side effects.

Then we have to consider half of this product is a proprietary blend, which means we don’t know how much is being used or how effective it will be overall.

It’s not the best we’ve seen by far.

Side Effects

The main worry with this product is the amount of Zinc in it.

Going over the recommended upper limit of 45mg a day, which this product does, can lead to side effects such as:

  • Nausea
  • Migraines
  • Stomach Aches
  • Light-Headedness

It’s not pleasant, and it’s best to be avoided.

Alpha Nutra Alpha Boost Review

On the whole this is one of the poorer testosterone boosters out there. Here are our reasons why:

  • Poor Servings – With only 2 a day, this won’t have the biggest impact on your testosterone levels
  • Proprietary Blend – A lot of the ingredients have their values hidden
  • Potential Side Effects – There’s a lot of zinc in this product, and that has been known to cause trouble in this amount
