Review Overview – What does Advanced PCT do?
This is quite a common online PCT supplement that many guys have been asking me to write about – Mainly as it has so few honest reviews online.
In this detailed review however, I run through nothing but the facts – the ingredients, the servings and whether it is the right product for you.
So let’s start with what it’s supposed to do.
It’s marketing suggests it can:
- Balance Hormone Levels
- ‘Accelerate’ Testosterone
Although the first point seems vague, I assumed this meant block estrogen – as it seems to have some potential as an aromatase inhibitor. Despite the positive reviews online, this product doesn’t claim to do much.
This is how it all breaks down:
How does Advanced PCT work?
The serving schedule for this PCT is actually pretty good. With 3 servings a day, the body can be constantly supplied with the nutrients it needs to recover from the damage done after a cycle.
Testosterone levels can be reset, estrogen can be blocked and the liver can be detoxed (especially useful after methylated prohormones). However, the effects of this working also depends on the ingredients, and unfortunately Advanced PCT doesn’t have a great selection.
Here’s a quick run down on each one:
A methylated bio-flavonoid that has been seen to inhibit the estrogen producing aromatase enzyme. It’s a pretty solid nutrient if you’re looking to reduce your estrogen levels.
Cordyceps Sinensis Concentrate
A type of mushroom that was originally used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It’s claimed have some anti-aging properties, although nothing has been proven. There is some evidence of it regulating testosterone production, however it’s a complicated process and can be unreliable.
This is not your best bet for boosting testosterone.
An amino acid that’s common in high protein foods, usually in animal meats. Mainly it helps to lower blood pressure – which helps as most guys who have just come off a cycle struggle with high blood pressure.
There has also been some idea that the supplementing of L-Histidine HCl may help support the leydig cells in the testes and help improve testosterone. However, nothing has been conclusively proven.
Grape Seed Extract
The seed from the popular citrus fruit. There are links to this nutrient contain anti-estrogenic properties, however no evidence has been put forward to support it.
The 7-Methoxyflavone is a pretty strong choice here when it comes to blocking estrogen, as well as the L-Histidine HCl for reducing blood pressure. The rest however, I’m not so sure.
Also there seems to be no effort put into this supplement for the production of testosterone, or the detoxification of the liver. There’s quite a few key areas where this supplement appears to have missed the mark.
You won’t have the best recovery using this.
How long should I use it for?
The recommended usage of this supplement is 30 days. However, this won’t fully recover your hormonal levels. To get the best recovery you want to be looking around the 3 month mark.
Are there any side effects?
So far there are no side effects reported with Advanced PCT.
How much does it cost?
1 month supply is around $30.95 online.
Athletic Xtreme Advanced PCT Review Conclusion
After studying Advanced PCT, I’m afraid I have very mixed feelings about it.
One the one hand, this product has a great serving schedule. 3 servings a day is a good way to ensure your body is being provided with everything it needs to restore testosterone levels, block estrogen and detoxify the liver.
However, this doesn’t count for much if the ingredients used aren’t great, which unfortunately is the case here.
Although it has a good estrogen blocker with the 7-Methoxyflavone, and a good blood pressure regulator with the L-Histidine, there aren’t any proven ingredients working to improve testosterone or detoxify the liver.
As good as the serving schedule was, it’s been ruined by the poor choice of ingredients.
This is not an an effective enough PCT. For the best choices, you’re better off consulting my highest rated PCT supplement list. Your best bet is waiting for you there.
